Thanksgiving is in two weeks.

No, I'm not kidding. Which brings me to my first question: Are you meeting your significant other's extended family this holiday? And to my next: If so, what %$#& are you going to wear?

I've created the perfect holiday dressing formula (and I'm not talking about the stuff your grandma serves with cranberry sauce). When hanging out with the (future) in-laws, you always want to look polished, yet like you're not really trying. This outfit formula will leave you looking put-together, but casual—what could be better?

Foolproof holiday outfit formula:

Sweater + medium to dark wash jeans (I have these, and I'm ob-sessed!) + patterned scarf that coordinates with top + neutral jacket/coat (love this one!), statement earrings + booties = chic perfection

Opt for a trendy, yet classic sweater this Thanksgiving. How can a sweater be both, you ask? Go for a classic color in an au courant fabric or a trendy color in a classic cut. Darker wash jeans are dressier, so when in doubt, choose a denim style that is medium to dark wash with little to no distressing. A patterned scarf pulls a look together and adds an extra pop of polish, so you can't go wrong.

Regardless of the outdoor temps, always bring an outer garment just in case your in-laws' house is freezing (hey, you never know). Statement earrings are the perfect outfit add-on because they draw attention to your gorgeous face and pull together the rest of your look. Over-the-knee boots would look killer with this outfit, too, but if you want something a little more, ahem, subtle, then booties are a simple and chic footwear choice that will leave your MIL asking, "dear, where did you get those adorable shoes?"

And don't forget to bring a dish! This week, I am going to do a round-up of some of my fave (easy!) holiday dishes, so stay tuned!

Happy T-givs, my loves!
