Top: SheIn, Sunglasses: Prada, Bag: Louis Vuitton (vintage), Shoes: Steve Madden, Jeans: Jessica Simpson
So I get a lot of questions about SheIn and whether or not it is a reputable purveyor. This is one of those sites that I would encourage a "buyer beware" approach. I have only ordered once from them, but I would definitely do it again. I mean how chic is this bow top right?
I have heard from others that the quality of the items they received left much to be desired. But this wasn't the case for the order I placed. TBH I normally wait until I see someone else post about an item available on SheIn before pulling the trigger. At least this way I know that the quality of that particular item is up to snuff. The site reviews are also helpful, but I really prefer to see the merch photographed on a non-model to get an idea of what it might look like on someone who isn't 5'11.
I'm pictured wearing this top, and I absolutely adore it. I would liken the quality to that of a Forever 21 piece. Nothing impressive, but it's well worth $16. Especially when you can find comparable tops for three hundred dollars or more. Hard pass.
My only issue with my order from SheIn was that the clothes took for flipping everrrr to get to me. All of my items were marked as "priority dispatching," and I have literally no idea what that means because it couldn't possibly mean that these items ship faster than others because it took an actual EON.
I had honestly forgotten I even placed the order by the time my clothes arrived three weeks later. Seriously.
I will also add that I think a lot of the items run a little big. I am a true small in tops, and I definitely could have gone for an XS in three out of the four shirts I purchased.
On to the burn story.
Well. I burned myself on my steamer while getting ready for this shoot. That's really all there is to it. It's less of a story and more of a ... happening, really. I still have a pretty rad burn mark, though, so I am open to any suggestions for scar prevention. I've already rubbed myself with silver, Vaseline, and Manuka honey, so I'll basically do anything you tell me to. PLZ HLP LOL.
This also explains why literally every photo you see of me now is of me grabbing my left arm. Sry not sry.
One time I burned my thigh on my curling iron because I was trying to "iron" out some wrinkles that were in my J.Crew shorts while I was wearing them. WHY THO.
I now immediately regret sharing that with you. *Kanye shrug*
Have y'all ever purchased anything from SheIn? Did you have an unsavory or a pleasant experience?? I'm super curious because I've heard some interesting stories!
