License to Frill: How to Rock Ruffles

Top: BP, Sunnies: Quay (on sale!), Bag: Vici Collection, Shoes: Stuart Weitzman, Similar, Jeans: Free People, Ring: David Yurman

If my blog name didn't tip you off, I'm going to let you in on a little not-so-secret about yours truly: I effing love frills. They're fab; they're fun. And most of all: they're surprisingly easy to style. I am all about a ruffle, and here are three reasons you should be, too.

  1. Ruffles add a feminine flair to an otherwise understated look. Take my outfit for example. I'm decked out in neutrals with just my ruffles and purse amping up my vibe. Ruffles are an easy way to add a glam touch to a lackluster look.
  2. Strategically placed ruffles are super forgiving. Just make sure you place the ruffles on the smallest areas of your body, not your biggest. Ass fat? Opt for ruffles on your top. Apple shaped? Reach for a ruffled skirt. This ruffle sweater gives me heart eyes because it is soooo flattering on all body types. The ruffles are on the sleeves only, which makes it the perfect pop of frill in just the right place.
  3. Ruffles are fun AF. It's true. Feeling a little down? Not excited by your job? Break up with your bf recently? Add ruffles. Rocking ruffles is an easy way to infuse a little pep into your wardrobe and your day. Trust me, y'all. It's an instant mood-lifter. If nothing else, ruffles are definitely a conversation starter. So if you're introverted like I am, wearing ruffles is an easy, no pressure way to break the proverbial ice.

I urge you to buy this ruffle top immediately. It's chic and sweet, and you can't beat the price. It would also look great with faux leather leggings, white jeans, or a simple black pencil skirt.

I am still loving this edgy bag I snagged from Vici Collection. See it also styled here. What do you think of the frill trend overall? I'm obviously ALL on board.
