Can you ladies even believe it's literally fall right now?

As most of you may know, it's my birthday week, so that's one reason fall is my faaaave.

I'm basic af about fall. I love cooler temps, seasonal drinks, and cute scarves. Sue me. But when you live in LA (lower Alabama) like muah, transitional fall pieces are key. Mostly because the day starts out at 68 and lands around 86 by lunch. Fall weather in the South is almost as unpredictable as my ex. Let's just say that's not ideal.

I've rounded up nine fall favorites that all put a fun spin on traditional basics. These are items that you will pull for time and time again this season, and they won't break the bank. They're also not items you're going to see on every girl on the street because they're not from Target or Eagle Eye Outfitters. No shade, just realness (:

Soooo if you guys haven't noticed, I'm obsessed with Free People. Their items are super quality, and they pretty much always are on sale. It's a delicious combination for your closet and wallet. I've had my eye on this bell sleeve top for weeks, and I'm so excited I found it in multiple colors all on sale. I'm definitely eyeing the pink, but I also love love love the fun fall hues on the Free People site, too. This top would look great with ripped jeans, distressed shorts, a cute mini skirt, or some fun trousers. The pink, black, and white versions are on sale for $58 at Nordstrom. And the chambray and terracotta colors are on sale for $49 on the FP site. I'm honestly obsessed with all of them.

A cardigan for fall? Groundbreaking. But, like, it really is, though. Women constantly ask me how they can dress for fall and winter and not look heavy or homeless. Well, here you are! This cardi is fitted, tied, and has exposed shoulders, so it's sexy without being overt—can I get an amen? The brand is English Factory, and they legit have the cutest stuff. You could style this fun cardigan with flared or skinny jeans for a look that is casual cute but anything but basic.

Free People again? YES! I bought this dress for my birthday trip, and I am obsessed with it! It's lightweight, adorable, and can be dressed up or down. I paid $88 for it two weeks ago, but's on sale now for $52. They're currently sold out in size small, but they will hopefully restock soon. I wore this with chunky heels and a mini bag for drinks on Frenchmen Street, but you could also dress it down with some sandals and a high ponytail for day. Just make sure you grab some pasties because this is a no-bra zone!

Ruffle tops are all. the. rage. right now. And this babe comes in under $50! That's a steal, y'all! I don't own this one (yet), but it looks lightweight and uber comfortable. I'm definitely getting it when it cools down a little. This would be equally cute with jeans or tucked into a pencil skirt. Ahh! I'm in love!  Did I mention it also comes in pink? *heart eyes emoji*

Metallics have been in for a while, and spoiler alert: they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Metallic pleated skirts are the perfect transitional pieces because they pair holiday vibes with a look that can be dressy or casual depending on styling. I love items that are versatile, and this skirt is no exception. You can wear it to a Thanksgiving dinner with strappy heels and a fitted top or throw it on with a graphic tee and some sneakers for day. The possibilities are endless!

You guys know that my accessory of choice is definitely earrings. They're fun, fab, and usually aren't that expensive. These tassel babes from Nordies look fierce and fall af. They would be so stinking cute with this ruffle top, a chunky knit, or literally anything that is solid and not too fussy. You don't want your earrings fighting with your top, y'all! And it doesn't hurt that they cost less than four days' worth of Starbucks. You need them.

I'm really picky about rings. I don't own these, but I've been on the search for a everyday gold set, and they seem like they would fit the bill. If you're trying to draw attention to your new fall mani, these babies will do the trick in a heartbeat. I've heard nothing but great things about this brand and they're $60 for a set, which is really hard to beat! They'll go with any outfit, and feel free to mix your metals. Yasssss.

If you are a loyal follower of mine on the 'gram, you know I like Quay maybe as much as I like Free People. I literally have like ten pairs of Quays because they're all under $100, and the quality is perfection. These sunnies are super on trend and on sale on for under $40. *screams with joy*. I'm as picky about sunglasses as I am about rings, and Quays have yet to disappoint. Sidenote: did you know the brand is pronounced "key" instead of "kway." This was news to me. Super glad I never said it out loud to anyone who knew the truth!

Last but definitely not least is this hot little thing from Rebecca Minkoff. Her clutches add the right amount of sass to an outfit without taking it overboard. I told you metallics were still really in for fall, so this clutch is an easy way to experiment with the trend without fully committing. It's the priciest item on the list, but it's under $100, so it's still very reasonable. This would be perfect for date nights, drinks with the girls, and upcoming holiday parties. It would shine with an LBD, winter whites, and even with jeans and a T-shirt. It's an all-around fab item that you will reach for again and again.

Which are your fave transitional pieces for fall? Let me know in the comments! I need them all!
